Welcome to Saxen Ltd.

As an on-line retailer, we recognise that we have a role to play in ensuring that we manage our environmental impacts. We also recognise that we have a role to play in communicating good environmental practice outside our company. 

OUR IMPACTS

Our most significant adverse environmental impacts are: 

• Consumption of natural resources in the development, production, marketing and distribution of our publications and in our general office operations
• Emissions to the atmosphere from the use of carbon based energy in the production, marketing, sales and distribution of our publications and our general office operations
• The environmental performance of our suppliers
• Production of waste material

Our most significant positive environmental impacts are working to minimize and mitigate our carbon footprint and to achieve a carbon neutral / carbon positive state, reducing and eliminating waste, promoting renewable sourcing of raw materials, particularly wood-fibre and energy, and working with our suppliers towards a closed-loop material and energy cycle. 

OUR COMMITMENT:

To deliver this Policy, our Sustainability Team, drawn from each main department including Sales, Customer Service, Marketing and Web Development, has the following objectives:

• To oversee and review our environmental policy and all of our purchasing practices and operations and to set the future direction of our environmental practices, conduct monitoring and seek continuous improvement in our environmental performance
• To set objectives, targets and programmes to improve our environmental performance, including sustainable sourcing, carbon management, the use of ethical supply chains, preventing pollution and the pursuit of recognized environmental standards amongst our suppliers such as FSC paper and furniture sourcing, ISO 14001, EMAS and SA8000
• To comply with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements, identifying and applying the best available techniques wherever possible
• Working in collaboration with our customers ensuring customer satisfaction
• Employing honest and ethical business practices
• Complying with regulatory & other requirements and controlling our subcontractors
• To provide information and appropriate training for and seek feedback from all staff on our environmental procedures and goals
• Monitoring performance and setting quality and environmental improvement objectives
